Fall Golden Hour Family Session

My first October family session! The Kapottos’ family had the best evening for golden hour and pretty fall colors peeping through for their family session. I first met the Kapottos family through a local hybrid school and our sons have been best school pals since Kindergarten! If you want to know an endless supply of nature facts; they are the Kratt Brothers 2.0!

I was excited when Shelly mentioned doing pictures at our family’s farm after spending my daily walks scoping out different places, noting the light and planning out sessions based on lighting and location. The hardest part was narrowing down which spots to go to because sadly you can’t be in multiple places at once and you never realize how quickly the sun sets until you’re taking pictures at golden hour. The day of our session was a solid 80+ degrees and not exactly a crisp fall day. However, it was gorgeous and in my book it beats being freezing cold!

Our session was fun with lots of laughter, traveling around the fields in the 4x4 between spots and some fun nature sightings (sandhill cranes and lotssss of deer). It was truly hard to narrow down what pictures to share!

During this point of the session I turned back to see Sweet E looking like a kid on Christmas who just got the best present and this was the look she was giving her parents.

Ferns are the gift that keep giving. Whether it's summer or autumn they are the perfect touch to a wooded setting. At this point we left our woodland spot to catch golden hour in the field above the swamp.

So thankful to have the opportunity to document memories filled with love and laughter for families. Photographs truly highlight the big picture in a small frame.
